This emergency breathing apparatus demo was introduced after several miners had lost their lives though not knowing how to operate emergency equipment. The simple demo enabled miners to learn life-saving procedures and they are now not allowed underground until they have passed with flying colours several times. These procedures are repeated quarterly to maintain a 100 per cent safety level. |
