LETS ACHIEVES WORLD-FIRST BY COMBINING 3D WITH TELECONFERENCING
SOUTH YORKSHIRE, UK - LETS (Leading Edge Technology Solutions), has announced a major breakthrough in the use of 3D and hi-definition teleconferencing technologies which, for the first time, allows organisations to conduct interactive product and design reviews from any number of remote locations in real time.
LETS has successfully combined transmission of interactive 3D computer models within a live teleconference video link so viewers can not only see and speak to each other but also see, and interact with, 3D visualisations of product designs on the same screen at the same time.
A video of the initial work-in-progress can be seen here.
The breakthrough means that unique design ideas and concepts can be shared and discussed interactively on-line – removing the need to travel long distances no matter where you are or what distance is involved.
Viewers at either end can manipulate the on-screen 3D models while they speak enabling real-time collaboration with distant sales or design staff, clients prospects or potential investors or partners.
Paul Thorpe, Director of LETS said: “This truly is a major step forward and has the potential to revolutionise the way organisations do business – particularly when global warming and concern over carbon emissions is causing businesses to reconsider travel needs and the fact that executive time is becoming more and more precious.
“Now you can talk to your colleagues wherever they are and have a true-to-life 3D model of your product or building there in front of them in ‘virtual space’ - you can both communicate and review the design or idea as though you were really there with the actual product in front of you.”
LETS (Leading Edge Technology Solutions), operates from the newly created £4million European Interactive Visualisation Research Centre in High Melton, Doncaster, and provides businesses with a bespoke service enabling them to utilise leading-edge 3D technology in all areas of their operation from product development to sales and marketing.
